Last updated: October 1, 2026. This policy covers PictoQuest for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S (package com.pictoquest.app), published by Mark Willis. The separate iPhone and Android privacy policies cover the mobile Pictonomicon apps.
With your permission, PictoQuest receives frames from the headset cameras. Those frames may show your surroundings and people nearby. The app processes them on the headset to calculate live color enhancements and support the enhanced passthrough view. It also uses camera and view information, sampling choices, and enhancement settings to display the result. PictoQuest does not require an app account.
You decide when to take a photo or start and stop a recording. For 2D photos and video of the enhanced view, Horizon OS asks you to approve a screen-sharing session. The “Release capture access” control ends that session. In 3D video mode, the app records paired headset-camera views as a side-by-side video.
Photos are saved as JPEG files in Pictures/PictoQuest on the headset. Both 2D and 3D videos are saved as MP4 files in Movies/PictoQuest. Saved media can show your physical surroundings, including other people or sensitive site details. Files can include enhancement settings, camera and sampling information, transforms, timestamps, and recording details. Review media before sharing it.
PictoQuest does not provide an app account, a developer-run cloud library, or an automatic upload feature for your camera frames, photos, or videos. Saved media stays on your headset unless you choose to share, back it up, or move it using Horizon OS or another service. Those services have their own privacy practices.
The app is built with Meta and Unity software. Horizon OS and these components may process technical or diagnostic information needed to operate the device or app, such as performance and crash data. PictoQuest does not use in-app advertising or an app-specific analytics service. If you have a question or deletion request about data associated with PictoQuest, contact us at the address below.
If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any files or information you choose to include. We use them to answer your question, resolve a problem, or handle a privacy request. Please do not send photographs or precise location details unless you want us to see them. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed for those purposes and related records.
You can deny or revoke headset-camera permission in Quest settings. Without it, live enhancement and camera-based recording will not work. You can decline Horizon OS screen-sharing approval, stop a recording, or use “Release capture access” to end a 2D capture session.
Delete saved photos and videos in the headset’s Files or Gallery app. Clearing PictoQuest app storage or uninstalling the app removes app-local settings and any app-private diagnostic files, but it does not remove photos and videos saved in shared storage or copies you shared elsewhere. Delete those copies where you saved or shared them. We cannot remotely erase files that exist only on your headset.
To request deletion of information you sent us, email MacGuyVar@icloud.com and identify the message or address you used. We will handle app-related data requests without a fee. For information controlled by Meta or other services, use their privacy controls or contact us and we will help direct your request.
