Yes. PhP. 200.00 from the membership fee is turned over to the National for the applicant's membership, while the remainder is turned over to the Local Chapter.
In the effort of the Batangas Chapter to provide concrete benefits, we have included them in the recent amendments of the Local Constitution and By-Laws as stated in Art.3, Sec. 3:
All members, even officers, have only one (1) fiscal year for every membership fee paid. For example, an applicant becomes a member of the chapter on June 7, 2019, this is only valid for the same fiscal year of 2019. His membership is subsequently regarded as membership from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. If he attended activity from January to May 2019 even if he was not a member that time, he shall be treated as a member of the chapter for those months as a compensation. We included a membership pointing system so that all members can be encouraged to renew prior to expiration.
The same goes for a person who became a member last January 1, 2019. He would be able to exercise all rights from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.
If a person decides to become a member on November or December, we encourage them to apply for the next month (January), next year to avoid misunderstanding since it will still fall under the same fiscal year if he got accepted as a member. If, however, he insists of the membership due to some legal reasons, the Local Chapter will still accept his application.
Free membership is given to those who just recently passed the board exam. This is valid to everyone who has taken his oath in the fiscal year he wishes to apply. However, for November passers who usually take their oath in December, they can immediately apply for membership but the fiscal year of their application will be next year.
If you can still remember the last year you paid for membership, the validity of that membership should be the same year you applied it. By all means after that, you are no longer a member of the chapter as indicated by the Constitution and By-Laws. However, the Local Chapter has incorporated the Activity System which can easily inform you about your status and last membership date. Please see the Membership Tab for complete details.
Yes. This will fall under Associate Membership. Kindly see the Membership Tab for complete information and its benefits.
Yes. Membership under Local Chapter is always a free choice. But, every chapter will encourage each chemical engineer to apply for membership in which they are working or where they reside since it will provide easier access for them during events. Again, it is always your choice as to where you want to apply as a member.
