Noninvasive measurement and monitoring of soil properties and processes enable us to

(a) understand fundamentals of soil behaviour due to physico-chemo-mechanical-biological (PCMB) interactions

(b) monitor health of geotechnical infrastructure and development of early warning systems

Our research looks at:

(a) developing and using broadband electromagnetic (EM) measurement systems for characterisation and monitoring of soil processes

(b) modelling of frequency dependent dielectric behaviour of soils

(c) development of physics and artificial intelligence (AI) based prediction models linking dielectric and state properties of soils through inverse and forward approach

Gravimetric moisture content, volumetric moisture content and degree of saturation of a tailings sample from the windows of frequency dependent dielectric spectroscopy during progressive desaturation
