Industry (Tailings and Geotechnical)

Majority of our industrial experience is in the domain of engineering, management and operation of tailings storage facilities (TSF), accumulated while working as an engineer in the mine owner's team and as a consulting geotechnical engineer.

Experience

A brief account of our industrial experience (specific to projects on TSFs) is provided below:

Risk assessment and management for TSFs

Implementation of telemetry systems for health monitoring of TSFs

Tender assessment and project management for instrumentation on TSFs, slope stability analysis and drilling campaigns (for small projects with budgets 30K to 0.5 Million AUD)

Engagement with multiple consulting firms/design engineers, site team and corporate team for management of TSFs

Hands on experience with (a) supervision of installation, QA/QC checks and routine data analysis for monitoring instruments (vibrating wire piezometers and inclinometers) on TSFs, (b) crack repairs on TSFs and (c) supervision of SPT campaigns (d) sampling of tailings for geoenvironmental charcaterisation

Routine inspection of TSFs

Analysis and interpretation of CPT, SCPT, VST data

Gap analysis for site investigation and development of HSE for site investigations

Development of factual and interpretive reports for site investigation campaigns and routine monitoring of TSFs
