OIn the frame of the PLANTED project on “Sustainable plasma and bio-based wastewater micropollutant treatment – Education and outreach network” (website: http://enviro.fmph.uniba.sk/planted/) which brings together research groups from Belgium (Ghent University), Estonia (University of Tartu) and Slovakia (Comenius University Bratislava), we have recently organized a training school with our colleagues from Department of Genetics, and the Division of Environmental Physics on the treatments of wastewaters along with the impacts of treated wastewaters on genes! The training school involved lectures of experts in these fields from the project consortium along with laboratory works from the international students. The team of Olivier Monfort from the M² group has been actively involved in the success of this event. PhD students Yilan Zeng and Hamidreza Behtooei have supervised laboratory works on “Wastewaters treatment using heterogeneous AOP” and Olivier Monfort has delivered a lecture on “Introduction to photocatalytic and Fenton-based processes for wastewater treatment”. Below are few pictures of this event!
