Help Phoenix Hedgehog Rescue Rise Again

Phoenix Hedgehog Rescue is continuing its rebuild following the closure and transition of the rescue that previously operated as Emma’s Hedgehog Hospital.

While the need to care for vulnerable hedgehogs never stopped, we had to start again without the financial reserves or guaranteed income of an established organisation.

We have secured a new home for the rescue and have worked hard to equip it from the ground up.

From preparing the building and installing essential facilities to purchasing specialist equipment, food and medical supplies, we have invested heavily in creating a safe and appropriate environment for the hedgehogs in our care.

But a rescue cannot run on equipment alone.

There are ongoing costs every single month — veterinary treatment, medication, food, heating, electricity, cleaning supplies, housing, transport and emergency care.

This is where our sponsors can make a real difference.

Why We Need Sponsors

We do not have an endless source of funding, and we want to grow Phoenix Hedgehog Rescue responsibly.

Reliable sponsorship allows us to plan ahead, maintain appropriate levels of supplies and respond quickly when an injured, sick or orphaned hedgehog needs our help.

🏠 Our Rescue Home & Facilities

Our new rescue base is housed within a generously donated portacabin, provided by Mervyn Lambert.

Considerable work has gone into transforming the building into a suitable rescue environment, including electrical work, flooring, windows, kitchen facilities, an animal bathing area, decoration and other essential improvements.

This was one of the largest costs involved in rebuilding the rescue, and sponsorship towards these improvements would be hugely appreciated.

We are also working towards providing additional storage and specialist areas, including:


🦔 Specialist Hedgehog Housing

Appropriate housing is essential to the welfare and recovery of the hedgehogs in our care.

We require approximately 16 specialist Plaztek hedgehog pods, at around £260 each.

Medical care is one of the most important and unpredictable costs within a wildlife rescue.

Support towards our veterinary care fund helps us respond when hedgehogs arrive injured, ill or requiring treatment.
