John 13:13
Our Teacher
13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.
John 14:6
The Truth
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Matthew 5:48
Be Perfect and More Like God
48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Philippians 2:5-11
A Humble Servant
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
John 1:14
God Becomes Flesh
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
1 Timothy 3:16
God in the Flesh
16 Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great:
He appeared in the flesh,
was vindicated by the Spirit,
was seen by angels,
was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world,
was taken up in glory.
God has a different perspective than us...He thinks much different than man...Some of His characteristics and things about Him are that -He is patient, He is kind, and He wants us to learn...He is Love...And He is a teaching God...
God wanted us to know more about Him...So He sent His Son who appeared in flesh as a Man, and made His dwelling among us -to teach us...So God sent us a Teacher...He sent His Son to teach us many things...Jesus is our Great Teacher...He teaches us so much...He wants us to try more to think like Him and about Him...He teaches us about God...He teaches us that God is from above and thinks in terms of eternities...
Why would the Creator of the universe humble Himself to be a servant?...Why would God humble Himself to death on a cross for the sins of humanity?...He Loves mankind, and He wants us to learn about Himself through His Son..
God sent Jesus and He did not make His Son particularly important or popular or famous...He could have made Him born of a King and royalty, but chose not to...Instead He made His Son poor, and at anytime He could have made Him the richest Man in the world...But money means very little to God, and can be an obstacle for us in our relationship with Him...St. Paul tells us that God made His Son the very nature of a servant...The Alpha and the Omega the One, who is the holder of all wisdom and knowledge, would come to teach and serve mankind...St. Paul adds that He would even come obedient to death for man and die for man's sins...
God sent His Son as Teacher, so we would learn about the most important things in life...He teaches us the importance of having something sacred to hold on to in life, especially when times are troubled for us...He teaches us to trust Him, even though we have this hard time of comprehending sometimes who He is...Jesus teaches us (in His prayer -the LORD's prayer) that we should often pray that God's will be done instead of our will...These sacred things (we find in life) are priceless and mean more than money, and we never forget them...His Son teaches us that God is good, and only God is good...He teaches us that His Father is Perfect and we should try to be more like Him (as far as that is possible with are flaws)...He teaches us that He is the way to His Father, the way to a better life, and the way to Truth...God did all these things because He wanted to show us His Love for us...He sent His Son to teach us hope...By Jesus walking the earth, gives us this hope and strengthens our faith...He sent His Son to teach us that by believing in Him and the One who sent Him we can be saved from our sins, and lead an eternal life, after our deaths on earth with Them in heaven...But most of all He sent His Son to show us, in fact, that He is Love -and Loves us...
