K-12 education in Massachusetts


Massachusetts is one of the top performers in the country for K-12 education. This goes for both students and teachers, the backbone being well guided standards and equitable opportunities for all students. US News reports Massachusetts as second in the nation for pre -K-12 education. Many factors are considered in these state rankings including graduation rate, standardized test performance, and college readiness. The state also does well in areas of student security/safety and low bullying rates, the growth of the education system was pushed in the right direction with multiple federal legislations including the No Child Left Behind Act later replaced by the Every Student Succeeds Act in 1993.
