The Peters Lab joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in summer of 2023. Jamie (Dr. J) has long been interested in how neural circuits control behavior and the neurobiological substrates by which emotional memories are encoded and retrieved. She enjoys mentoring inspired neuroscientists, writing grants, and puppies.

Margareth joined the lab in February of 2024 as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Margareth has been interested in the mechanisms of action of psychedelic compounds as potential treatments for psychiatric disorders. She enjoys architecture, interior design, and cats.

Nathaniel joined the lab in September of 2022 as a Research Assistant, then moved with the lab to UAB in summer of 2023, where he is now a first year PhD student. He completed his bachelor's degree at Lake Forest College in neuroscience and biology. He enjoys hiking and adding to his houseplant collection.

Erica joined the lab in November of 2023 as a Researcher II. She completed her bachelor's degree at UAB in neuroscience and her master's degree at UAB in multidisciplinary biomedical sciences with a concentration in neuroscience. She enjoys cuddling with her dog, Riley, and listening to music.

Brock joined the lab in August of 2023 as a Research Assistant. He is currently working on his bachelor's degrees at UAB in both biomedical engineering and chemistry. He enjoys cuddling with his cat, Billie, and catching up on Netflix shows.
