NationZoom is a very common browser hijacker that changes a browser's home page to nationzoom.com and default search provider to search.yahoo.com. Although it will not do any real damage to the user's computer, it will become very annoying as it will constantly display ads and popups. It is often bundled in freeware programs, and is hosted at many websites that offer free downloads.
NationZoom can usually be fairly easy to uninstall through the Add/Remove Program tab in Control Panel.
Right-click the Start button and click Control Panel.
Go to Programs and Features (or Uninstall a Program, if your Control Panel is in Category view).
Find the program you want to uninstall, click it to select it, and then click Uninstall.
If this method does not work, NationZoom can also be removed via many anti-malware programs, such as Malwarebytes or HitmanPro
After removing NationZoom, if you are still finding NationZoom.com coming up in your browser first despite the homepage being set elsewhere, here is one of the ways it may still be hiding:
1. Right click on your Internet browser icon and choose "Properties".
Please note that you must perform the same operation for all Internet browser shortcuts, including those in your Programs list and taskbar.
2. On the "Shortcut" tab, look in the "Target" field and delete the"http://www.nationzoom.com/…" value written after "iexplore.exe" (for IE shortcut) or "firefox.exe" (for Firefox Shortcut), or "chrome.exe" (for Google Chrome shortcut) and choose "OK"
Press "Continue" when asked to "Provide administrator permission to change these settings".
