Access to Historical Records: Archival Projects:
The National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) of the National Archives supports projects that promote access to America’s historical records to encourage understanding of our democracy, history, and culture.
Projects may preserve and process historical records to:
Convert existing description for online access
Create new online Finding Aids to collections
Digitize historical records collections and make them freely available online
All types of historical records are eligible, including documents, photographs, born-digital records, and analog audio and moving images

All types of historical records are eligible, including documents, photographs, born-digital records, and analog audio and moving images.
Projects may:
Digitize historical records collections, or related collections, held by a single institution and make them freely available online
Provide access to born-digital records
Create new freely-available virtual collections drawn from historical records held by multiple institutions
Create new tools and methods for users to access records
Public Engagement with Historical Records:
Projects might create and develop programs to engage people in the study and use of historical records for institutional, educational or personal reasons.
For example, an applicant can:
Enlist volunteer “citizen archivists” in projects to accelerate access to historical records, especially those online.
Develop educational programs for K-12 students, undergraduate classes, or community members that encourage them to engage with historical records already in repositories or that are collected as part of the project.
Collect primary source material from people through public gatherings and sponsor discussions or websites about the results.
Use historical records in artistic endeavors.
Develop technologies that encourage the sharing of information about historical records.
The Council on Library and Information Resources: Digitizing Hidden Collections Grant
Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives: Amplifying Unheard Voices is a grant competition administered by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) for digitizing rare and unique content stewarded by collecting organizations in the US and Canada.

Institute of Museum and Library Services
The Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) program is a joint effort of IMLS and the Foundation of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works to help small and mid-sized museums better care for their collections through a grant and recommendations.
Grants for Small Museums is a special initiative of the Museums for America program.
Museums for America:
The IMLS Museums for America grant is a matching grant of $5,000 - $250,000 for up to three years. The program supports museums of all sizes and disciplines to undertake projects that strengthen their ability to serve their public.
Museums Empowered: Professional Development Opportunities for Museum Staff:
Museums Empowered is a special initiative of the Museums for America grant program. It is designed to support projects that use the transformative power of professional development and training to generate systemic change within museums of all types and sizes.
Museums Empowered has four project categories:
Digital Technology:
Provide museum staff with the skills to integrate digital technology into museum operations.
Diversity and Inclusion:
Support museum staff in providing inclusive services to people of diverse geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds and to individuals with disabilities.
Evaluation:
Strengthen the ability of museum staff to use evaluation as a tool to shape museum programs and improve outcomes.
Organizational Management:
Strengthen and support museum staff as the essential part of a resilient organizational culture.
Henry Luce Foundation, Responsive Grants
Through its Responsive Grants, the American Art Program seeks to support a wide range of collection-based projects that advance the understanding and presentation of art of the United States.

National Endowment for the Humanities -- Division of Preservation and Access
The NEH Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collections program helps cultural institutions meet the complex challenge of preserving large and diverse holdings of humanities materials for future generations by supporting sustainable conservation measures that mitigate deterioration, prolong the useful life of collections, and support institutional resilience. Grants range from up to $50,000 (planning) to $350,000 (implementation).
Help small and mid-sized institutions improve their ability to preserve and care for their significant humanities collections.
Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP)
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects.

National Trust for Historic Preservation

Gladys Brooks Foundation
Grant proposals from hospitals and clinics where the proposal addresses a new health need, an improvement in the quality of health care or reduced health costs with better patient outcomes will be considered generally for: endowments for programs; erection or endowment of buildings, wings of or additions to buildings; and capital equipment.
