Seungdeog Choi (Senior Member, IEEE) received his B.S. degree from Chung-Ang University, Seoul, South Korea, and his M.S. degree from Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2004 and 2006, respectively, both in electrical engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in the Electric Power and Power Electronics program from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA, in 2010. From 2006 to 2007, he worked with LG Electronics in Seoul. Between 2009 and 2012, he served as a Research Engineer at Toshiba International Corporation, Houston, TX, USA. He was an Assistant Professor at The University of Akron, Akron, OH, USA, from 2012 to 2018, and an Associate Professor at Mississippi State University, MS, USA, from 2018 to 2024. Since August 2024, he has been a professor. His current research interests include degradation modeling, electromagnetic interference modeling, fault-tolerant control, and the fault-tolerant design of electric machines and power electronics systems.
