Ashik Amin, Ph.D. 2024,
Kohler Energy, Wisconsin, USA
Ashik Amin, Ph.D. Student, I have received a B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in July 2014. My undergraduate focus of the study was concentrated on electric machines, renewable energy, and power electronics. After graduation, I have served in Grameenphone-Telenor, and Bangladesh Power Development Board in a total of four years. Currently, I am working as a Research Assistant at Mississippi State University under the supervision of Dr. Seungdeog Choi. My present research area is the characterization of the EMI effect in wide bandgap converters.
Mark Didat, Ph.D. 2023,
GE Appliance, Indianna, USA
Mark graduated with a B.S.E.E. from Rose-Hulman in 1992 and has since been working in the industry full-time. The last 17yrs he has been designing consumer electronics at GE appliances where he put several of his designs in millions of consumer’s homes. These include a variable speed TRIAC motor drive, an Alexa built-in control, and most recently an Android single board computer. Mark has sixteen filed patents of which six have been granted and holds a P.E. license in the state of Indiana. He completed his M.S.E. at Purdue University in 2006 and has been an adjunct professor at the New Albany Purdue campus since 2009 teaching controls courses in ECET.
Khurshedul Islam, Ph.D. 2023,
Advanced Semiconductor Material Lithography (ASML), Conneticut, USA
Khurshedul Isdent, He received the B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), Chittagong, Bangladesh, in 2014 (Chancellor’s Medal with rank 1st among 200 students). From 2014 to 2017, he worked as a lecturer in the EEE department, International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC). In fall 2017, he joined Mississippi State University as a Ph.D. student. Currently, he is working in the Power Electronics and Energy System Laboratory (PEESL) under the supervision of Dr. Seungdeog Choi. His current research interests include Electric Machine Design, Finite Element Analysis, and Motor Drives. He is also interested in Optimal/Robust/Nonlinear Controls for Hybrid Electric vehicles and Renewable energy systems.
Eshet Wodajo, Ph.D. student, (University of Akron (Co-Advised)), Ph.D. 2023
CISCO, USA
T. Wodajo received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2013. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in power electronics with the University of Akron, Akron, OH, USA.,He was an Electrical Engineer with Ethiopian Airports Enterprise, from 2013 to 2014, and a Lecturer with Addis Ababa University, from 2014 to 2016. His research interests include power electronics, motor drives, renewable energy, and control systems
Moinul Shahidul Haque, Ph.D. 2021,
Nexteer Automotive, Saginaw, Michigan, USA
He received a B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2009. His research interests include prognosis and remaining useful life estimation of the traditional and wide band-gap power semiconductor switches, and degradation-aware control of the power electronics system. He interned with the Corporate R&T team in Cummins Inc, Fridley, USA. He has successfully completed several industry projects and NSF i-corps projects during his Ph.D. time. He is also serving as an Electrical team-lead of the Mississippi State University EcoCAR team in a competition arranged by the Department of Energy (DoE) and General Motors.
