Ashik Amin, Ph.D. Student, I have received a B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in July 2014. My undergraduate focus of the study was concentrated on electric machines, renewable energy, and power electronics. After graduation, I have served in Grameenphone-Telenor, and Bangladesh Power Development Board in a total of four years. Currently, I am working as a Research Assistant at Mississippi State University under the supervision of Dr. Seungdeog Choi. My present research area is the characterization of the EMI effect in wide bandgap converters.   

Mark Didat, Ph.D.  2023

Mark graduated with a B.S.E.E. from Rose-Hulman in 1992 and has since been working in the industry full-time. The last 17yrs he has been designing consumer electronics at GE appliances where he put several of his designs in millions of consumer’s homes.  These include a variable speed TRIAC motor drive, an Alexa built-in control, and most recently an Android single board computer. Mark has sixteen filed patents of which six have been granted and holds a P.E. license in the state of Indiana. He completed his M.S.E. at Purdue University in 2006 and has been an adjunct professor at the New Albany Purdue campus since 2009 teaching controls courses in ECET.

Khurshedul Isdent, He received the B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), Chittagong, Bangladesh, in 2014 (Chancellor’s Medal with rank 1st among 200 students). From 2014 to 2017, he worked as a lecturer in the EEE department, International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC). In fall 2017, he joined Mississippi State University as a Ph.D. student. Currently, he is working in the Power Electronics and Energy System Laboratory (PEESL) under the supervision of Dr. Seungdeog Choi. His current research interests include Electric Machine Design, Finite Element Analysis, and Motor Drives. He is also interested in Optimal/Robust/Nonlinear Controls for Hybrid Electric vehicles and Renewable energy systems.

T. Wodajo received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2013. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in power electronics with the University of Akron, Akron, OH, USA.,He was an Electrical Engineer with Ethiopian Airports Enterprise, from 2013 to 2014, and a Lecturer with Addis Ababa University, from 2014 to 2016. His research interests include power electronics, motor drives, renewable energy, and control systems 

Moinul Shahidul Haque, Ph.D.  2021

He received a B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2009.  His research interests include prognosis and remaining useful life estimation of the traditional and wide band-gap power semiconductor switches, and degradation-aware control of the power electronics system. He interned with the Corporate R&T team in Cummins Inc, Fridley, USA. He has successfully completed several industry projects and NSF i-corps projects during his Ph.D. time. He is also serving as an Electrical team-lead of the Mississippi State University EcoCAR team in a competition arranged by the Department of Energy (DoE) and General Motors. 

Md. Zakrirul Islam, Ph.D. 2019

He received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2009.  After that, he has worked in Robi Axiata Limited as a Specialist for five years. He worked there on both radio & power equipment and contributed significantly to radio network configuration.  His present research interests include the areas of Electric Machine Design, Power Electronics and Self-Healing Grid. He is also interested in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, Renewable Energy Systems, and Electric Motor Drives.

He received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2009. During undergraduate studies, he was heavily focused on electronics and microcontroller based system design.  After that, he has worked in Robi Axiata Limited as a Radio Network Specialist for five years.  His present research interests include Power Electronics, LED Drive, Wireless Power Transfer, and Control System.

He received a B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2009.  In that year, he joined as a faculty member in International Islamic University of Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh. From 2010 to July 2013, he did his job as a specialist in Robi Axiata Ltd, Bangladesh. There he worked on Radio Network Design for both data and voice communication. His Ph.D. research covered analysis and control of advanced electric machines, especially analyzing the fault performances of a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance machine. Currently, he is a Power Electronics Engineer, working for the Corporate R&T team in Cummins Inc, Fridley, USA. His present research interests include the areas of electric motor drives, hybrid electric vehicles, advanced inverter commutation, and smart control of various electric machines.

She received a BS degree from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Her research interests are control of electric machines, model predictive control, fault-tolerant control of the multi-phase motor.

Md Mamun Biswas, MS, 2018

He received his B.Sc. degree from the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). He previously served as a research and development (R & D) engineer in Energypac Engineering Ltd which is one of the leading electrical machine manufacturing companies in Bangladesh. His research interest centers around rotating electrical machine’s fault detection, fault modeling approach, design, and feasibility analysis. Presently, he is concentrating on the fault detection of High-speed motor.

From 2012 to 2015 he worked as MATLAB/SIMULINK Trainer and Application Engineer at Naresh Institute, Hyderabad, India. His main focused areas were Power Electronics, Power Quality during his job. His main focus is Condition Monitoring and Fault diagnosis of Power Switches. His other Research areas are Hybrid Electric vehicles, Pulse Power Supply, Motor Drives.

He has experience as a Teaching Assistant in the Hybrid Electric Vehicles course at The University of Akron and as an Entrepreneurial Lead in NSF I-Corps Team Program. He has been a Researcher, R&D Center, Department of Rolling Stock, Daewoo Company, Korea  1996 – 2001. He has been Senior Researcher, Transportation R&D Department, KICTEP(Korea Institute of Construction & Transportation technology Evaluation and Planning), Korea. He is Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering Department, Changwon University from 2007. Currently, he is a visiting scholar in AECL.  His research interest includes Design, Modeling, Magnetic Simulation of Electronic machines, and Electric Motor Drive Systems using TI DSP. He was visiting scholar from 2013 to 2014.
