Sense of belonging is proven to be a protective feature against anxiety and depression. As a matter of fact, helping young people strengthen positive bonds with both familiar and social figures is fundamental to boost their feeling of safety.
If they perceive they are supported and understood by those around them, youngsters are likely to feel more secure and less isolated. Strong connections to their peers and adults translate into lower levels of anxiety, because they represent a safety net during stressful times.
Last but not least, working on the connection skill will influence behavioural aspects, which will tend to promote their emotional and social well-being.
Our 3Cs Peer to Peer program directly focuses on connection through the specific CONNECTION WORKSHOPS.
Meant to be the closing act of this growing process, these activities focus on the abilities of listening, compreheding and evaluating others' thoughts and aim at leading young participants to recognise the real value of seeking and giving support.
