Our Motto: "Make something wonderful and put it out there"
Wayne Suggs, a New Mexico native, has been photographing the Southwest for almost 50 years. His love for the landscape was ingrained in him through family explorations and camping trips with his parents and siblings. For Wayne, pressing the shutter is secondary to experiencing the wild places, solitude, and being completely immersed in nature. Photography has provided him the opportunity to explore even more, to give back, and to be a voice for the environment.
Wayne has expanded his work from not only the Desert Southwest, but to South America, Antarctica, Canada, Europe, and Africa.
Wayne’s work can be seen in many local and national publications. He has authored five books, with his latest coffee table book, The Color of Dreams.
Wayne has led workshops for Muench Workshops since 2016. His work can be seen in galleries throughout the State of New Mexico and on his website at www.waynesuggsphotography.com

Pam Dorner is an award-winning wildlife and landscape photographer from New Mexico with a marketing degree from Texas Tech University. Her work reflects a deep love of nature, from the coastal brown bears of Alaska and the birds of Bosque del Apache to the rugged beauty of the Southwest landscape. Among her favorite subjects are the Sandia Mountains, the Rio Grande, and the Bosque, along with the wildlife that make these places home.
Through her photography, Dorner seeks to establish a connection between the land, its inhabitants, and the viewer. “That personal connection with nature is what fills my soul,” she explains. “I hope that by sharing this love, others will feel the same wonder and reverence for the natural world—and be inspired to protect it.”
Originally from Utah, Larry came to Texas nearly 50 years ago for graduate school, where he joined the Woodlawn Camera Club in San Antonio and began a lifelong involvement in photography clubs. He later served as president of the Mid-Missouri Camera Club while on the faculty at the University of Missouri. Since moving to Dallas in 1999, he has been active in the Plano Photography Club, the Dallas Camera Club, and the Heard Nature Photographers Club. Retired from Texas Woman’s University since 2015, Larry now teaches “What Judges Look For,” a class that draws on his experience as both competitor and judge. He advises photographers to create images about things rather than just of them, stressing that strong light, interesting subjects, and early feedback are key to contest success.

Khandan, a civil engineering professor and Ed & Harold Foreman Endowed Chair at New Mexico State University, embarked on a passion for bird photography in his native Sri Lanka. After relocating to Las Cruces, NM in 1998, he continued and refined his hobby and has since gained regional recognition as an exceptional avian photographer.
While Khandan’s technical expertise and talent in composition are evident to anyone who has seen his work, there’s much more to his work than simple beautiful photos. Through numerous exhibits and workshops, he aims to raise public awareness about the invaluable ecosystem services that the birds he captures provide.
Khandan will be presenting hummingbird photo workshops during the Conference. Seating will be limited.
