As a rescue, we strive to help as many guinea pigs as possible. Still, we must carefully manage our capacity to ensure that every animal in our care receives the attention and resources they need. While we wish we could take in all unwanted guinea pigs in Houston and surrounding areas, accepting too many fosters could compromise the quality of care we can provide. Our commitment is to offer a safe and nurturing environment for each guinea pig we take in, so we need to maintain a sustainable intake process. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions about our intake policies.

Note: If you found a guinea pig outside (in a yard, park, dumpster, etc) please reach out to us at peanutbutterpigs.gpr@gmail.com

Sometimes circumstances change, making it challenging to keep your guinea pig. If you're considering surrendering, we also offer the option of providing sanctuary for your guinea pig at our rescue. Learn more about this option and how it could be a solution for you.

If you need to surrender a guinea pig, we're here to help. At PeanutButterPigs Guinea Pig Rescue, we understand that circumstances can change, and sometimes keeping a beloved pet's no longer possible. Our goal is to ensure that every guinea pig receives the care and love they need, even if it means finding them a new home. When you surrender a guinea pig to us, they will receive proper medical attention, a safe and comfortable environment, and compassionate care from our experienced team. We do our best to make the surrender process as smooth and stress-free as possible for both you and your guinea pig.
