I offer a fixed price service to upgrade a PC to a higher version of Windows . Versions of Windows that are still in use include 7, 8 , 10 and 11. (Windows 7 and 8 are no longer supported by Microsoft). This price includes a full system backup. You will not need to re-install your programs such as Office, Adobe or Email software etc. I also offer a dual boot option where you can have two versions of Windows on the same computer - you choose which one at startup. Occasionally the upgrade option may not be available and we will have to install a fresh copy of Windows 10 or 11.
Upgrading may also improve the performance of your PC as it replaces all the old system files that will have built up over the life of your PC. Even if you already have Windows 10 or 11 I can do a reinstall and retain all your installed programs and settings. This will replace much of the 'junk' system files that may be slowing your system down.
If your PC has a conventional hard drive with moving parts I recommend upgrading to a Solid State Drive (SSD) at the same time as upgrading to Windows 10 or 11. This will give a SIGNIFICANT boost to performance.
Upgrading to Windows 10 or 11 and replacing your hard drive with a SSD hard drive is a much cheaper way to improve the performance of your computer versus buying a replacement. It could extended the useful life of your computer by 3 to 5 years.
It is possible to have 2 or 3 versions of Windows on the same computer.
Most users will have Windows Home version installed. You can upgrade to Pro, Education, Enterprise without losing programs or data. You will need to buy a new licence or get one from your employer or place of education. Higher versions have extra features and security relative to the Home version.
It will take 1-2 hours to backup your PC and install Windows.
If you want to keep a backup of your system you will need to provide an external USB hard drive. The best drives to use are portable USB drives that do not need a separate power source. They use power from the computer's USB connection. Minimum recommended size is 1 Terabyte (TB) = 1000 Gigabytes (GB). This should be enough for most users backup needs. If you have large amounts of data then you can buy 2TB or 4TB drives. Price for a 1TB portable drive will be around £40-£50. You should really be backing up your important files already using this sort of drive.
