The Investigation

Student(s) will investigate their driving question in lessons 4 through 11.

The investigation is facilitated by the teacher, but is student-led.

Types of investigations:

• Finding a solution to a problem or issue

• Finding an issue within a system

• Building a model

• Discovering a process

• Decision-making process

Properties of a student-led investigation:

• Student(s) take the lead in decisions

• The investigation has a purpose or real-world connection

• It builds upon existing knowledge create new understandings

• Allows for collaboration and reflection

• Reflects student voice and choice
