Gastro-Intestinal Illness (most commonly called norovirus)  and Flu-like illnesses are a fact of life. These illnesses if mismanaged can become and outbreak.  Our team is here to help you by:

  • These bespoke plans are tailored for each vessel as a "one size fits all" approach is not enough to manage an outbreak

(Within the plan having appropriate records to help prove due diligence in case of a public lawsuit)

• Conducting audits to verify the effectiveness of your Outbreak Control Plan

• Carrying out microbiological monitoring to establish the causative agent and have a targeted approach to its' elimination

• Creating ship specific  intelligent monitoring logs which require the medical team to record information. These logs automatically display:

  • Epicurve and other monitoring charts to help visualise the severity of the outbreak

  • Triggers that show what action level should be taken in the event of an outbreak

  • A colour coded deck plan to help identify clusters of contamination

Below is an extracted example of how you can monitor outbreaks with our GI log .  In the full version the Medical Team will only have to enter the details once and a different report layouts will be created automatically to comply with USPH, ShipSan, ANVISA and Canadian Port Health requirements.

Notice how the outbreak levels change depending on the number of souls on board and also notice the deck plan updating according to the status of the patient. This helps track trends and patterns when monitoring outbreaks. (depending on your internet browser settings the date entry may be DD/MM/YY or MM/DD/YY
