Women in Tech Podcast, Espree Devora - Host
Whenever I'm looking for an inspirational blast, I'll check out Espree Devora's great podcast Women in Tech. Espree calls it "actionable empowerment" and I agree. Whether it's an Estonian programmer with a brilliant idea or a Los Angeles-based entrepreneur leading a team of developers seeking to make an impact, there's always something to learn listening to this podcast. And learning is the name of the game.
The Marketing Cloudcast, Megan Collins and Tina Rozul - Hosts
Salesforce CRM's Marketing Cloudcast is always a breath of fresh air. Hosts Megan and Tina take every topic in today's complex marketing toolkit and shine a light in an approachable, but relevant, manner that even battle-hardened marketers can appreciate.
Content Chemistry, Andy Crestodina
Andy Crestodina's Content Chemistry is a fantastic guide to all things Content Marketing. His "periodic table" of the Content Mix is a great way to represent how Digital Marketing Strategies interact and complement each other. I discovered this book early in my time developing Hubspot content flows for Digital Fuel and it's never left my side since.
the cluetrain manifesto, doc searles
Like many GenXers, I can still remember the first time I clicked on the original website and read doc searles' manifesto of 95 bullet points that followed:
1. Markets are conversations.
That core concept of the cluetrain manifesto, markets as conversations, with a human scale and voice, is as valid today as it was when first written. Today's digital marketing strategy can trace its roots to these thought-provoking insights.
Roadmap to Revenue: How to Sell the Way Your Customers Want to Buy, Kristin Zhivago
This direct and pragmatic take on Customer Marketing by Kristin Zhivago packs a powerful punch. Many companies seek to amplify their customer marketing but don't know how. As Kristin explains, it starts by listening to your customers and paying close attention to how they want to buy. Revenue, referrals and NPS scores will follow.
Email Marketing Rules, Chad White
Chad White's Email Marketing Rules strikes the exact right balance. If you believe, like I do, that marketing based on authentic, permission-based relationships drives revenue, then Chad's guide of "do's and don'ts" will help underpin your lifecycle marketing strategies.
As someone who has rigged, sent and measured the impact of countless email campaigns since I went to Nebraska in 2008 to work on a US Senate Campaign, I can vouch that Chad's overarching ethos and sense of balance rings true.
