About Lisa

Hello!

I have been teaching piano in Halifax for 25+ years, and loving it!

I enjoy teaching all ages and levels, up to university audition preparation.

Classically motivated students are offered the opportunity to prepare for Kiwanis Music Festival as well as testing with Royal Conservatory in performance, musicianship and theory studies.

If you love popular or modern music, I enjoy working together to create your own original arrangements; or working from chord or lead sheets to create awesome covers!

And if you've got the itch to compose -- I say, let's do it!

I believe in designing the curriculum to fit the student.  This is the beauty of private lessons!

I also believe that is my very good fortune to have found a career as rewarding as sharing the gift of music with people of all ages, skills and interests.  (I have the best job, ever!)

I have a Bachelor of Education degree, a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Piano X Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto.

In addition to doing my own ongoing research, I enjoy keeping abreast of current piano pedagogy by regularly attending workshops and clinics.

I also continually reach to learn new things.  In the past several years I have learned new skills like Latin dancing, ceramics and I am also learning to speak Spanish!

I believe to be a good teacher, one should be actively learning.
