The Middle School Honors Gifted Education Program at Patrick Henry Middle School is open to all incoming 6th grade students who have been identified for gifted education services and who attend one of the Sioux Falls School District elementary schools. The goal of the Honors Gifted Education Program is to provide academic challenge for highly capable learners. Classes include a greater depth of subject matter, an accelerated pace, a wide variety of teaching and learning processes, and high expectations for student achievement.
Parents/guardians must complete the online Verification of Enrollment form, regardless of what elementary school was attended, including the Challenge Center. The form is located on the District’s website: www.sf.k12.sd.us under Academics/Gifted Programs: Middle School.
Parents will be notified in February or when the program reaches capacity with confirmation of enrollment in the Middle School Honors Gifted Education Program for the 2026-2027 school year.
Fee Based Busing is available for transportation. Reduced rates are available for qualifying students. The bus stops are located at various elementary schools. Parents are responsible for transporting their child to the various pick-up and drop-off sites. What if my child chooses not to attend Honors Gifted Education at Patrick Henry?
Gifted Education services are provided to students who qualify at every middle school. Gifted Education is an Encore class scheduled into a students’ day.
Where do Middle School Honors Gifted Education students attend high school?
At the conclusion of the Middle School Honors Gifted Education Program, students will attend their designated District assigned high school, based on primary address, or may apply for open enrollment to the high school of their choice.
