Projects

Very often, when I talk about the projects I follow / have followed, people look at me with a strange face because I use incomprehensible acronyms. Therefore, I would like to dedicate the right space to tell them and make them more understandable using simple language and as clear as possible but at the same time exhaustive information.

The projects are listed below from the most recent to the most historic. They include both work and volunteer experiences as I can say that I have achieved what I wanted without necessarily having to make a distinction between them.

So here are the projects I contributed to:

Google Developers Groups

What is it:

Google Developer Groups (GDGs) are local communities supported by Google that aim to give you the opportunity to meet other members, share your knowledge and grow. Anyone with any kind of background is welcome. The organized events cover technical topics both on Google and non-Google technologies, in order to acquire new skills through practical workshops, training, events, panels and meetups, both online and in person. The GDGs organize at least one event every 3 months and the biggest event organized by a local chapter is the DevFest: a very large conference, lasting 1 day or more, multi-track, reaching developers not only nationally but also internationally .

My role:

My journey in the GDG world has been very extensive and full of experiences. I joined the GDG Turin in the communication area and I took part in the organization of the meetups. A year later I was taken on by the GDG Bari which encouraged me to grow as a speaker and community manager and I became a community leader by organizing the first DevFest Levante: a week-long multi-track event in Salento on a campsite where workshops and talks were held in the morning and team building activities were held in the afternoon. After this experience, the GDG Trento also wanted me on board and together with the old team we organized the DevFest. I helped with the handover to new forces that were taking over the community. Given the commitment required as an organizer over the years, I decided to withdraw from the GDG Turin and Trento and I remained in the GDG Bari ❣️

In 2020, despite the pandemic, we decided to get together and organized the “DevParty Together” and the national DevFest in online format as GDG Italia. In both cases, I co-managed the team of 40 organizers made up of GDG leaders from all over Italy.

In 2022 I collaborated in managing the organization of the DevFest Triveneto organized in collaboration between GDG Trento, Verona, Padua and Venice.
