The Central Control Hub is for crew use only. For the roughly 300 passengers on board, there are only about 30 or so crew members. As such, the Central Control Hub is very spartan. There are tables for emergency meetings, screens, consoles, and the like. Nevertheless, because this part is not meant to be used by the passengers, it is more likely to see naked pipes or cables going around.
The highlight of this area is a massive/impressive tree. It stands in the middle of the room.
Mazes lead from the Central Control Hub towards the 2 main puzzle rooms: Power Core and the Life Support Unit. These mazes are intended to be dark and confusing. Their purpose is to add some additional downtime in between puzzles and provide ample space for WENDEE to deliver her voice lines.
Initially, the Power Core maze was intended to start with a downward descent. It soon became clear that this made it much more difficult to design, considering the limitations. Instead, there are now two main modules for each maze: A straight pipe and a crossing-section. With these, we can create as many turns and twists as we want and simply block the un-used crossing segments.
