Linguist | Researcher | Language Policy | Multilingual Governance & AI-in-Education Expert

I am a linguist and researcher working in the areas of multilingual education, language assessment, and language policy in India. Over the past decade, my work has focused on strengthening the role of Bharatiya languages in education, governance, and national development, in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

My work lies at the intersection of linguistics, educational assessment, and technology, particularly in the development of large-scale multilingual item banks, technology-enabled language proficiency tests, and digital resources for language learning and evaluation. A key focus of my work has been to ensure that language assessment systems in Indian languages are scientifically designed, scalable, and aligned with international frameworks such as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), while remaining responsive to India’s multilingual and multicultural context.

I have contributed to the design and development of language proficiency tests, textbooks, and examination materials for diverse domains including school education, higher education, teacher training, banking recruitment, and national-level examinations. My work spans all Scheduled languages of India as well as several non-Scheduled languages, contributing to the development of one of the largest multilingual language-assessment databanks in the country, comprising thousands of calibrated test items and evaluation resources.

I have also organized and conducted more than 250 training programmes and capacity-building workshops for teachers, educators, and examiners across India in areas such as language assessment, question item writing, language pedagogy, and the use of technology in language education. In addition, I have assisted government organizations, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and banks in their recruitment and talent acquisition processes, particularly in the design of language proficiency tests, training modules, and specialized language courses.

My broader objective is to develop robust, technology-enabled multilingual assessment systems that make Indian language learning and evaluation accessible, reliable, and globally benchmarked, thereby supporting India's linguistic diversity and contributing to the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
