Linguist | Researcher | Language Policy | Multilingual Governance & AI-in-Education Expert

I am a linguist and researcher passionate about advancing multilingual education, language assessment, and language policy in India. Over the past decade, I have worked at the intersection of linguistics, technology, and governance, leading initiatives that align with NEP-2020 and strengthen the role of Bharatiya languages in education and administration.

At the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru, I lead the National Testing Service–India (NTS-I), where I oversee the development of SCALE—India’s first computer-mediated assessment platform for 22+ Indian languages. My work focuses on creating large-scale item banks, designing AI-powered proficiency tests, and ensuring that assessments are globally benchmarked to frameworks like CEFR.

I believe that technology-enabled multilingual education is key to achieving Viksit Bharat @2047. My vision is to make Indian language learning and assessment accessible, reliable, and future-ready for learners, teachers, and institutions across India.

I have designed and developed proficiency tests, textbooks, and question papers for Indian languages across diverse domains, including school education, university-level courses, banking recruitment, and national-level examinations.
