Five years later, the second edition—the Paleo Spring Meeting—takes place, in which the essential pillars are cooperation between the different actors in Paleontology and support for those taking their first steps on their scientific path.

In close partnership with the SHN - Sociedade de História Natural and the Municipality of Torres Vedras, we once again sought to bring diverse knowledge and life experiences to stimulate imagination and encourage networking. In this second edition, a hybrid participation regime (in-person and online) was tried out, in which participants from more than 15 countries gathered, with the submission of 40 short articles. We also implemented the double-blind peer review method, reducing the possibility of partial review by keeping the identity of both authors and reviewers anonymous throughout the review process. As an innovative element, we opened the Paleo Spring Meeting to the participation of scientific illustrators. We hope to empower them and give them tools for the recognition of their work by the scientific community, as well as their essential role in the development, preservation, and communication of paleontology.

Once again, the Paleo Spring Meeting seeks to bring together a wide range of excellent presentations, activities, and guest speakers to provide an enriching event for the entire paleontological community.

We would like to thank all the entities and people involved in bringing this congress to fruition, especially our partners and the teams that worked with us during these months.

To SHN - Sociedade de História Natural, in the person of Bruno Camilo (President of the Board), we express our most sincere appreciation for accepting the challenge and embarking on this adventure with us, with total dedication. We want to reinforce our gratitude to the Municipality of Torres Vedras for their fundamental role in creating this event and welcoming all our participants (online and in person) in a space that contributes to their scientific growth and development of Paleontology. We remember and thank the attentive and rigorous work of the members of the Scientific Committee, who dedicated themselves to improving the scientific texts submitted, always with the growth of the authors in mind. We highlight and celebrate the sponsorships that filled the participants’ bags with gifts and curiosities, as well as the publicity support entities that made our event known within and beyond borders. We recognize the essential role of our team of volunteers in developing this event. Finally, we would like to thank all our participants for contributing to making the 2nd edition of this congress concept a success.
