Service Learning

**DO NOT USE THE MOBILE x2vol APP**

For the best and the full X2vol experience, students should use the web browser to access X2vol.

This allows you to see the X2vol dashboard, access notes regarding the status of your hours,
and navigate the additional features not available on the mobile app.

Why Complete Service Learning?

Service Learning (aka volunteering) is an excellent way to develop character and gain valuable life experience throughout high school. Guilford County Schools uses the X2Vol platform for students to log and track hours spent volunteering with nonprofit organizations. Students can also earn a Service Learning Certificate or Service Learning Diploma upon graduation.

Getting Started

Finding Service Opportunities

Students can participate in volunteer activities through clubs and organizations affiliated with Page and GCS. They can also volunteer with community organizations as long as they've completed their Service Learning Approval Form prior to logging the hours.

Clubs like Key Club, LUX, DECA, and Team Voyage pride themselves on completing meaningful service for Page.

Approved Opportunities vs. Personal Projects

Community & Campus Opportunities: These are pre-approved clubs and activities conducted by / through / with Page High School or Guilford County Schools. Students will select these from "Find Opportunities" in X2vol.

Personal Projects: These are outside opportunities and nonprofits. Students must complete the Service Learning Approval Form and receive approval from Ms. Rich before logging these hours as "Personal Projects" in X2Vol.

Canned-Goods & Donation-Based SeRvice

If contributing canned goods or other donations for service hours, all clubs/organizations will adhere to the following:

10 cans  = 1 hour or                $10 = 1 hour

Students can earn a MAXIMUM of 10 hours per donation-based project/event.
