Page strives to maintain integrity within the student body at all times. Cheating and plagiarizing on any assignment—from homework to tests—is strictly prohibited and will be dealt with swiftly and directly. Your work is your own and not someone else’s. Your name is your honor. This includes, but is not limited to, cheating on tests, using an unauthorized electronic device on an assessment, sharing answers, copying information from ANY other source without citing it or without prior approval, copying from a student, using any AI or AI Generator (including, but not limited to, ChatGPT and Snapchat), allowing someone to copy materials, using someone else’s work as your own, division of labor on assignments, buying research papers from internet sources, telepathy, having other students do your work, telekinesis, etc. unless authorized to do so by the teacher. Students caught cheating will receive a ZERO on the assignment with no opportunity to make up the work, and it will be documented.
Students are expected to be in class, on time. The following consequences will apply to students each quarter:
1st/2nd Tardy: Warning
3rd Tardy: Detention, to be served with the teacher during a tutorial session and within 1 week (refer as minor incident)
4th Tardy: Warning
5th Tardy: ISS (refer as Major incident)
6th Tardy: Warning
7th Tardy: ISS (refer as Major incident)
Attendance is critical to every student’s success. Parents will be contacted once you obtain your 3rd unexcused absence. Any doctor's note, school trip, sporting event, band and ROTC activities are excused. Contact Ms. Eberhardt in the Attendance Office: eberhab@gcsnc.com
Each quarter, students will be allowed to turn in up to two (2) homework/classwork assignments up to three (3) days late with no penalty. Following the 3 days, each day the assignment is turned in late will result in a 10-point deduction to the overall score of the assignment. This policy will not apply to major assignments (such as projects, take-home tests, etc.). Each teacher can indicate at the time of assignment if a particular project is not able to be turned in late using this policy. Each day that any other assignment is turned in late will result in a 10-point deduction from the final maximum possible score, with a maximum deduction of 40 points for any assignment turned in by the end of the academic quarter. Additionally, you must apply for any grade recovery packets for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd quarters.
ALL personal electronic devices (cell phones, air pods and ear buds etc.) need to be secured in the student's backpack or bin provided by the school and placed at the front of the room upon entrance. If the student does not comply, this will be considered non-compliance and an admin should be called immediately.
This year, Page will be using the SmartPass system through Clever. Students will be required to log all hall passes in SmartPass on their devices in addition to obtaining a physical pass from their teacher before they can be in the hall.
IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.
We ask ALL students to report incidents to a teacher, counselor, administrator, or other staff member ASAP.
