Online Health & PE Permission Form (separate from the registration form)
How do I sign up to take a summer class?
Current Page students: Complete the Online Course Contract and submit it to your counselor or to the front office at Page. Your counselor will be in touch with you soon after to confirm enrollment.
Rising 9th Graders: Typically, this would only be Health and PE or NC Math 1 Honors, both of which are offered via NCVPS. Once the course is completed, please email your counselor your final grade report and we will add it to your Page transcript. Courses taken the summer between 8th and 9th grade will count as 9th grade courses and will factor into your cumulative GPA.
If you are a current GCS student, speak with your middle school counselor about registering for your summer class.
If you are coming to Page from out of county or a private/independent school, please visit NCVPS.org to register and pay for your desired course.
Is this the same as summer school? No. Summer School is for credit recovery ONLY and meets in person at Page. Online courses are for first-time credit and are completed from home.
What courses can I take? Students can take any offered course if it fits at least one of the 3 criteria below:
Course is not offered at Page.
Course will not fit into student's proposed schedule.
Students needs the course to get to a desired level of the subject by the time they graduate.
Students requesting to take Math 1, Math 3, Biology, or English II must receive special permission from Dr. Naglee as these are courses with EOC state tests.
When will my summer course start/end? NCVPS Summer 2024 courses begin June 25th and end August 2nd. Edmentum courses begin June 10th and end August 2nd. Here is a link to the CALENDARS including the last day to drop/add courses and the date final grades will be posted.
How do I log in? Students can log in through the app in Clever (single sign on) or from the NCVPS.org or Edmentum.com websites with their username and password. NCVPS login info is emailed to you by your counselor and Edmentum comes directly from the EdOptions team.
What if my login doesn't work? Student logins will not work until the official course start date.
Is there a scheduled time I have to log in? No, all NCVPS and Edmentum courses are asynchronous, meaning that students can log in at any time of day as long as the assignments are submitted by the indicated deadlines for the course.
How many hours a day should I expect to work on the class? This varies class to class, but students should expect to dedicate about 2 hours a day to their online summer course. Remember, this is a yearlong course that you're completing in a 6-week timeframe.
Who do I contact if I have questions about my coursework or course deadlines? Students must communicate directly with their assigned NCVPS or Edmentum teacher via email or through the Canvas portal / Edmentum website.
Do these courses count the same as courses taken in person at Page? Yes. These courses will reflect on your official transcript and will factor into your GPA.
How does my counselor receive my final grade? Counselors will receive a final report of all Page student grades at the end of the summer session. These will be added to student transcripts in the last few weeks of the summer break.
