Pacman is dedicated to providing a safe future for every Atlantic family. Pacman wants to make Atlantic the safest place to live, the most affordable place, and the place everybody wants to live. The northeast used to be a city upon a hill which every immigrant looked to for hope, now we need to take that position back as a national and global leader. To do that, Pacman will work to make the Atlantic Commonwealth a safer place to live by Reinstating No-Knock Warrants with Strict Limitations, Implementing a Tax on Marijuana, and Promoting Civilian Oversight of the Police.
No-knock warrants are dangerous, no doubt. However, Pacman recognizes that they can be a vital tool to law enforcement who need to get the job done right. As Governor, Pacman will reinstate No-Knock warrants with very strict limitations to ensure that discrimination or malpractice are not factors in their execution. With the advent of body cameras and more measures that keep our police in check, we can move forward with the reinstatement of no-knock warrants so that law enforcement are able to make our communities safe again. Some of the highest crime rates in the US are found in the Atlantic Commonwealth, and as Governor, Pacman will dedicate himself to turning the tables on crime in our communities.
Since our state legalized marijuana there has been no tax on its recreational use. As Governor, Pacman will work to institute a tax on recreational cannabis to ensure that medical users and recreational users are paying the same, especially so that medical users aren't contemplating the use of recreational cannabis instead of medical just to get a lower price. Whatever your opinion may be on cannabis, Pacman believes that we should be taxing it for the benefit of the people. Keeping marijuana usage at a minimum is ultimately Pacman's goal, but he understands that there is no reason to penalize those who use it out of their own volition.
Police are charged with protecting the civilians of their communities, however, sometimes they don't. As unfortunate as it is, it's an issue we must address. As Governor, Pacman will work to create citizen led commissions which will work to ensure the good conduct of police. The commissions will serve their communities and they will make recommendations to their local police forces and other governing bodies. These commissions will prove themselves vital in cracking down on discrimination within the ranks of our police forces, and they will ensure that every citizen is treated fairly by the police.
