Next Pack Meeting: 23 January - Pinewood Derby!
Every December, the Bear dens put on a carnival for the pack. The Bears used to have a requirement to earn the Bear rank. Now that has turned into an elective the Bears can earn.
The more stations you have, the more spread out the pack can be. When 60-75 scouts show up to a pack meeting, it is best to have about 9 stations.
Stations need to be safe and fun.
The Bear dens must figure out the logistics of the pack meeting. After flags and announcements, you need to communicate to the pack how the stations will run, figure out how to divide up the scouts into groups, figure out how long each rotation should last, etc.
Ideally, stations allow for multiple scouts to play at once, but that is not always possible. If one scout goes at a time, you need to ensure all the stations take about the same amount of time and every scout can participate.
In the storage container, there is a nerf gun set (wooden stand, guns, bullets, plates and cups, safety glasses). This is always a hit. This station requires a lead adult to manage gun safety. Even though these are just nerf guns, scouts have an opportunity to learn gun safety for when they graduate to real guns.
There is a toilet seat mounted on a wooden frame in the storage container, which can also be used for a station (throw balls into the toilet).
Depending on the number of Bear dens in existence, you can divide up the stations by den or by family or whatever. You just need to figure it out.
