Flag Ceremony

OPENING FLAG CEREMONY

The color Guard begins by making two lines.  The scout in the front of each line carries a flag – the American flag and the California flag.

Speaker:  Audience, Please Rise

Speaker:  Scouts, salute.  Those not in uniform, please place your right hand over your heart.

Speaker:  Color Guard, Advance.

Color guard advances in formation.  See image.  The flags are not inserted into the stands just yet.

Speaker:  Color Guard, Post the Colors

Put the flags into stands.

Speaker: Please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance

Color guard stands at attention facing the audience, they do not salute.  Everyone recites the pledge.

Speaker: TWO!

Everyone drops salute

Speaker: Color Guard, Dismissed

Color guard walks to the back of the room.

Speaker: Audience, Please be seated.

CLOSING FLAG CEREMONY

Speaker: Audience, Please Rise.  Color Guard, Advance.

Color guard walks to front in 2 lines.

Speaker: Color Guard, Retrieve the colors

Color guard takes flags out of stands. Forms 2 lines to walk to back of room.

Speaker: Color Guard, Advance

Color guard walks to back of room.  Do not cross lines.

Speaker: Color Guard, Dismissed
