The 2024 - 2025 Scout year comes with many new changes to the Scouting program. Below you will see a breakdown of the requirements for each grade level to achieve their rank. Scouts will work together during Den meetings, or at home with family, to complete each requirement to advance. As Scouts meet these requirements, beltloops or pins can be earned to be worn as part of their uniform. Additional awards may also be earned (see our "Additional Awards" page for more info). This year, activities such as the Pinewood Derby and camping events can be counted toward elective adventures. Scouts may complete as many of the elective adventures as they would like for their rank.
Like all ranks this year, Lions will begin the year with the Bobcat adventure. In years past, the Bobcat was the first rank earned by 1st through 5th graders new to Scouting. It served as the foundation of the Scouting adventure trail and introduced new Scouts to the Scout Oath, Scout Law, and basics of the Scouting program. This year, Lions will learn these basics, at an age appropriate level, to begin their advancement along the Cub Scout trail as well.
