COMMUNITY TOOLKIT

Public spaces, such as parks, conservation areas, libraries, trails, and recreation facilities, increasingly serve as leading environments for substance use emergencies, community wellness, and public safety response. The Time2Act Missouri Community Toolkit gives community spaces the resources to prepare staff, raise awareness, and connect people to life-saving support.

Many people who use substances in outdoor settings do so alone, increasing potential for overdose. This makes bystander response and naloxone access critically important. Communities are taking action by making naloxone more accessible, training employees, identifying vulnerable areas and populations, and creating community-wide partnerships.

This toolkit can help communities:

• Train staff on overdose response and naloxone use

• Spread awareness through signage and digital channels

• Find helpful partnerships with local health departments, community-based organizations, and first responders

• Provide naloxone to first aid kits and emergency systems

The toolkit includes:

• Social media graphics

• Infographic

• Trail Signs

• Bookmarks

Small actions in public spaces can lead to life-saving outcomes. Use this toolkit to make your community safer.

Share awareness messages on community social media accounts. Choose from the below designs that focus on connecting people to overdose recovery and prevention resources. 

Find the graphic(s) you would like to share to your social account. On a computer, right click and select "Save As". On a mobile device, hold a finger down on the image until you are shown an option to "Share" or "Add to Photos". Once saved, you can upload the image to your social account with a suggested caption. 

The files are labeled with the platforms they work best on. Square and horizontal graphics can be shared to social media feeds, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X. Vertical graphics can be posted as a reel or story to platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat.
