1. What is Outventure?

Outventure is a hiking application that provides GPS-based summit verification missions, land navigation tools, XP and title rewards, and global/country ranking. It is designed to support hikers during their journey with essential tools and progress tracking.

Starting a Mission

2. How do I start a hiking mission?

• Tap Start Mission on the bottom app bar.

• Choose the mountain you want to climb (online required).

• You will be redirected to the Summit Verification (On Mission) screen.

3. Do I need to be online to start a mission?

Yes. You must be online to:

• Select a mountain

• Sync your mission data

• Load the navigation map (caching)

4. What happens if I forget to cache the map?

Navigation cannot display the map offline if you did not open the Navigation screen at least once while online.
Make sure to:

• Select the mountain while online

• Open the Navigation screen once to download the map

After that, navigation works offline during your hike.

5. What features are available in the Navigation screen?

• Compass

• Elevation

• Summit point (verification target)

• Legend: posts, camp areas, water sources, crater zones

6. Can I use Navigation offline?

Yes. Once the map is cached, all navigation tools work offline.

Summit Verification

7. What is Summit Verification?

A feature that detects your position at the summit using GPS. When you reach the valid summit coordinates, the app recognizes it automatically.

8. How does the summit verification process work?

1. When you arrive at the summit, open the Summit Verification screen.

2. The app will automatically check your position.

3. If validated, a Finish Mission button will appear.

9. Can summit verification work offline?

Yes. Position detection is handled locally via GPS and works offline.

10. Can I finish the mission offline?

No. The Finish Mission button requires an online connection because:

• XP, title, and badge must sync to the server

• It prevents cheating by validating mission data

• Rankings update only when online

11. What do I receive after completing a mission?

You will earn:

• A title

• XP points

• A badge displayed in your profile

12. How does the ranking system work?

Your rank is based on total XP:

• Global Rank

• Country Rank

Ranks update automatically once you are online.

Outventure uses Google In-App Authentication only for secure and seamless access.

Online & Offline Requirements

14. What actions require an internet connection?

• Logging in

• Selecting a mountain

• Map caching (Navigation screen)

• Pressing the Finish Mission button

15. What can be done completely offline?

• Hiking

• Using the compass, elevation, offline map

• Summit detection via GPS

• Summit Verification screen (before finishing)

Common Issues

16. Why doesn’t the Finish button appear?

Possible causes:

• You are not at the summit coordinates

• Weak GPS signal

• You haven’t opened the Summit Verification screen

17. Why is the map missing when offline?

This happens if you didn’t open the Navigation screen while online before your hike.
To fix:

• Return to an area with internet

• Open the Navigation screen to download the map
  After caching, the map is available offline.
