53 miles in a Day Event 7 Sept 2013
Following a very successful Launch day on 18 May in Wendover Woods, the OAR project team ambitiously organised a second OAR event - '53 miles in day' on 7 September 2013.
Using all 18 circular walks in the 14 published Walk Guides, leaders set off with different groups at various points around the ring. Between them, these groups not only walked the whole 53 miles of the OAR in one day but also completed a total of 120 miles of led walks in one day! Some achievement for one walking group!
Despite the forecast earlier in the week, the weather was kind and over 150 people walked the footpaths.
