The purpose of "SDG throw away less food" is to respond to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and promote global sustainable development from the dimensions of resources, environment and social equity. By advocating for the reduction of food waste, on the one hand, the consumption of land, water resources, energy and greenhouse gas emissions (such as methane produced by food spoilage) in the process of food production can be reduced, and the pressure of agriculture on the ecosystem can be alleviated; On the other hand, it can optimize food distribution, redistribute food that might otherwise be wasted to hungry people, alleviate global food insecurity, help achieve goals such as "Zero Hunger" (SDG2) and "Responsible Consumption and Production" (SDG12), and promote resource recycling and social equity.

THE SOLUTIONS OF "ACTION" 5
1. Buy food that suits your own needs
One of the primary causes of food waste is purchasing more food than we can realistically consume. When we go grocery shopping without a clear plan or an understanding of our actual dietary requirements, we often end up with surplus items that spoil before we can use them.
2.Provide extra food for pets
Rather than discarding edible food scraps or leftovers that we may not want to consume ourselves, we can repurpose them as food for our pets.
3. Compost
Composting is a highly effective and environmentally friendly way to deal with food waste. Instead of sending food scraps, yard trimmings, and other organic materials to landfills, where they release methane—a potent greenhouse gas as they decompose—we can transform them into nutrient - rich compost.
