Just another word for spiders I guess! We didn't see or photograph many during our trip, which was more biased towards birds. The spider in the header was taken whilst on a walk in the Manuel Antonio NP. It was about half a metre off the ground, clearly in the process of wrapping up a pack lunch.
Not really a spider at all apparantly, but an arthropod with 8-legs and no wings or antennae. These were on a wall in the Monteverde cloud forest.
(Gasteracantha cancriformis)
This is the same one shown in the header.
(Cuppenius salei)
Photo was taken at night in the rain forest at Esquinas Lodge. Quite a large spider (by UK standards), body was maybe 2.5cm long.
Another spider seen on a night walk at Esquinas Lodge. Body about 2cm long.
Large Wolf Spider on a leaf, seen during a night walk at Esquinas Lodge. Body was over 3cm long.
