We arrrived in San Jose at the start of our journey and left at the end as we returned to the UK or went on other destinations. San Jose is a bustling, busy city that like many places has its share of traffic jams, shops, restaurants, museums and culture. When we first arrived, it was following a long flight from the UK and towards the end of the day in San Jose.
At the end of our whistle-stop tour of the country, there was time to discover a little more of the city as it celebrated the Chinese New Year. This may seem a little surprising, given that Costa Rica is nominally consider to be an Hispanic country. However like many areas of of the world that have developed over the last couple of centuries, many Chinese migrants have made significant contributions across the spectrum of road-building, railway construction and so on. Hence in Costa Rica there is a considerable portion of society that have Chinese roots.
