This page contains resources to support your child as they build their phonological awareness and practice these skills.
To start out the year, we will be doing a quick review of letter names and sounds. Daily activities include letter sound play, sound to symbol games, songs, and printing practice. For students that are writing more, brainstorming words with these letters and sounding out ways to write them is a good extention.
The Jolly Phonics letter songs for all of the letters can be found here.
If your child is working on learning all of the letter names and sounds, here are some fun and easy extensions to practice at home:
Have a letter hunt and look for the things around the house or out the car window that begin with a letter sound. "I spy something that starts with 'A', or the sound /a/."
Add pictures or words to the letter page and create an alphabet booklet
listen to the letter sound songs, practice the actions, and see if you know the letter names.
Create a picture using only things that start with one letter (ex. a pink penguin playing pickleball beside an icy pond)!
