Written Dec 30, 2016
A segment of the timeline in US history that can help unravel mysteries of genealogy, as applicable, are the events between the signing of the Declaration of Independence, to and through the Civil War.
Major events include:
1776
War of 1812
Civil War
History of 13 Colonies through Declaration of Independence
Written Dec 30, 2016
Having in hindsight a summary timeline from the 13 Colonies, early travels in the Northern Neck of Virginia, such as John Smith and well known stories, and history on up until the signing of the Declaration of Independence, can help put a timeline of genealogy in perspective if your family might have had roots there.
On up to 1776 can provide information on immigrants, planters, voyagers, especially if they came from Europe.
Post 1776, is planned in another post, 1776 through Civil War.
Prophets a Good Starting Point
Written Dec 30, 2016
One of the best places to starts, toward understanding how the human family developed over time, and having a framework to work with, is to have at least a basic knowledge of unanimously known Prophets, the main parables they are involved with alongside.
These include, peace upon them all:
Muhammad, the Khatim, often translated as 'Seal', of the Prophets, amongst his titles, prayers and peace upon
Nuh or spelled/transliterated Noah
Musa or spelled/transliterated Moses
Ibrahim or spelled/transliterated Abraham
Isa or spelled/transliterated Jesus
Hud
Idris
Among books where those listed above are mentioned is the Quran. Revealed to Musa/Moses was the Torah, and to Isa/Jesus the Injeel, commonly referred to today as the Bible or Gospels.
How the World is, How the World was

The picture in the frontispiece, is a briefly drawn world, in an effort to be more encompassing of all. Without going into detail, what the readings were behind it, it struck that it has blaring reminders, maybe even similarities of a map of the world connected with Al Qazwini. Howsoever be it as it may, a study of the Al Qazwini map can certainly help.
