Who or what were the Ianthia Wheelmen?
Wheelmen in general, became a phrase to describe a cycling group or club.
Cycling and groups being formed around it, started to emerge in about the early 1900s. Perhaps a 'craze' or fad.
The Ianthia Wheelmen was cycling group that was founded in the Harlem, New York area. Among the theme was the members were well-to-do.
At some point, an article about the group and members may be written on a larger wik or online encyclopedia. For now, I will limit the writing to this website. Wik and encyclopedia authors are free to use this posting as a record or source.
Ianthia Wheelman or sometimes found Wheelman, have already been written about in books, and such books digitized and posted online.
Mr. Ten Eyck, father of Gretchen Ten Eyck Thornton, appears to have been a financial secretary of the group.
