Through Stitches and Loops

By describing, enhancing, and disrupting their social activities through the use of textiles, habitants can reveal dialogues about their identities.

Fabric and textiles therefore play an integral role in how we perceive landscapes. This section looks at textiles in relation to art and social fabric as having a complicated dynamic.

Weaving Types and Methods

The production of textiles is one of humankind's oldest professions. shielding and safeguarding the body from harsh surroundings, as well as transporting and storing goods, have been practiced since the beginning of sedentary life and the development of agriculture. One of humanity's most significant technological advancements is the production of textiles, which involves a wide range of processes, tools, and techniques

Slitweave

In kilim weaves, the wefts are divided by color-blocking and by leaving a slit between them. This results in geometric and diagonal designs.

Shared warp:

instead of leaving open slots, the weft threads are interlocked. This is frequently accomplished by utilizing different-colored weft blocks, which gives the patterns a somewhat blurred appearance.

Sumak

Warps are wrapped in mathematical patterns to create free reliefs on the designs' surfaces that mimic raised patterns. This strategy, which allows for the creation of a wide range of subjects, is considered the most difficult.

Zili

Extra wefts are encased around the warps to generate parallel cording in this style of float weave
