Crafted in June 2022 for the Ominous Valley Coronation - Murder Mystery Masquerade!
I started out with a basic cardboard mask pattern downloaded here: https://hacelovos.com/mascara-base-de-carton-plantilla-deacarga-gratis/
I then built onto it with wire and aluminum foil, and covered the entire thing with paper-mache plaster, using the recipe found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YQ6eUqcEh8&t=63s&ab_channel=UltimatePaperMache
I added some personal features like a textured surface for the fur, lines on the antlers, and even a quick repair job that is IMO fairly unnoticeable. (The plaster is fairly delicate to bumps and blows)
After painting, I hot glued some purple tule behind the eye holes to add a layer of creepy, broke an exacto knife cutting holes in the sides, and tied two long strands of purple ribbon to attach the mask to my head. (Not pictured due to rushing to the event)
