How to Get an Alcohol Permit
At least 10 days before the event
Go to the LCBO web site to apply for a Special Occasion Permit https://hellolcbo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1357/~/special-occasion-permit%3A-application-process
You will be directed to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) web site.
Create an account in your name (not OrH).
You will apply for a Special Occasion Permit (SOP) for a no sale Private Event, indoors, for one day.
Anytime before the event
Check with the team coordinator as to the amount of alcohol to buy.
Purchase the alcohol (wine) at the LCBO.
Day of the event
Bring the wine about 30 minutes before the event is to start.
ASAP after the event
Submit the permit receipt to the OrH bookkeeper (see “How to submit invoices/receipts for reimbursement”).
Note
Regardless of the amount of alcohol needed at the event (e.g. Purim, Pesach, Bar/Bat Mitzvah), a permit is required by law.
The permit will be issued to you personally and you will pay for it yourself ($45 as of 2019). Keep the receipt.
As the permit holder, you or your designate must be present at the event at all times and have the paper copy of the permit. Check the AGCO about all responsibilities of the permit holder; NB the OrH board will back you up regarding the responsibilities.

Should anyone consume too much alcohol, you will need to arrange for a safe trip home.
