The year is 2120. A creeping-ly slow global calamity has been taking place since the last century. The planet is a flooding scramble for the survival of civilization. Many of the old-world's developing nations no longer exist, and the former world powers are now the arks where many displaced peoples still try to cling to their old ways of life. After many of the biggest cities where claimed by the rising oceans, the surviving governments of Earth coincided that a conjoint push for humanity was going to be the top priority moving forward. The start of the 22nd century was marked by a great dome-city building surge around the globe, with 139 of them being completed by the year 2110.
In this new world collaboration panorama, many private companies started to thrive in ways never seen before. As the world's nations focused on rebuilding and managing millions of displaced persons, companies that invested in technology became more and more powerful. Many of them where contracted by the governments to manage the entirety of the building of dome-cities, while others dedicated to researching new world-shaping technologies.
