Modular Combat Armor

Orchid Rain Corporation equips some of their field troops with varying sets of combat armor. This armor protects their wearers of not only damage, but of any pain a weapon impact might have on them. This means that combat effectiveness of the user is vastly increased, as they will not flinch even a little when directly shot at.

The modular nature of the armor lets their wearer have the freedom of choosing which specific parts to use, so seeing fighters with partial sets of armor is not uncommon. Though full armor usage is always recommended, personal preference or style might be more important to some.

When a piece of armor is fatally damaged, it will drop, leaving the previously protected area now vulnerable. The armor also lacks protection for lower arms/legs, hands and feet.
