Hadestown

Broadway

Broadway | March 2019 (Preview) | MP4 (StarCuffedJeans' Master)

Cast: Reeve Carney (Orpheus), Eva Noblezada (Eurydice), Patrick Page (Hades), Amber Gray (Persephone), André De Shields (Hermes), Jewelle Blackman (Fate), Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer (Fate), Kay Trinidad (Fate), Afra Hines (Worker), Timothy Hughes (Worker), John Krause (Worker), Kimberly Marable (Worker), Ahmad Simmons (Worker)

Notes: Previews! Picks up after "Road to Hell." Decent capture with a lot of beautiful zooms, two really annoying heads, and a drop out occasionally but never for long (For the first time in my mastering career I kept putting the camera down after musical numbers because I couldn't NOT clap). This was my first time seeing the show and hearing this music so I was sometimes focused on the wrong things. Oh well. Overall, I love this video. I got home at 2AM after filming it and just SOBBED while I rewatched some of my favorite moments. WHAT A SHOW!

Cast: John Krause (u/s Orpheus), Eva Noblezada (Eurydice), Tom Hewitt (t/r Hades), Lana Gordon (alt Persephone), André De Shields (Hermes), Jewelle Blackman (Fate), Jessie Shelton (Fate), Mariand Torres (Fate), Timothy Hughes (Worker), Yael 'YaYa' Reich (s/w Worker), Malcolm Armwood (s/w Worker), Khaila Wilcoxon (s/w Worker), Kim Steele (Worker)

Notes: NFT except through master/VERY limited trade until March 12th, 2022 - contact master for sales/trading info. John Krause's debut as Orpheus! Shot on a phone, through heads, and unfortunately some scenes are angled so that you can only see certain corners of the stage. This is worst at the beginning of each act. You also can't see much during 'darker' scenes, such as Doubt Comes In, etc. The curtain call and We Raise Our Cups is particularly bad. That being said, it is still a video of John Krause's debut as Orpheus, and the shots that are good and unobstructed are pretty good, if I do say so myself. It is the whole show, from the cast walking out in Act 1 to the cast leaving the stage in Act 2, although as I already said, quality definitely varies.

Broadway | October 27, 2021 | MP4 (musain’s Master)

Cast: Reeve Carney (Orpheus), Eva Noblezada (Eurydice), Jewelle Blackman (u/s Persephone), Tom Hewitt (Hades), André de Shields (Hermes), Tara Jackson (swing), Jessie Shelton, Mariand Torres (the Fates), Timothy Hughes, John Krause, Malcolm Armwood (swing), Khaila Wilcoxon, Kim Steele

Notes: Jewelle Blackman's second performance as Persephone, first evening performance; Tara Jackson's second performance and first evening performance as Jewelle's Fate. Some obstruction /blur/washout, worse in act 2 than act 1. Stageshot from the mezzanine. First known video of Jewelle as Persephone and Tara as Jewelle's Fate. Includes curtain call and We Raise Our Cups.

Broadway | November 2021 | MP4 (StarCuffedJeans’ Master)

Cast: Reeve Carney (Orpheus), Khaila Wilcoxon (u/s Eurydice), Tom Hewitt (t/r Hades), Jewelle Blackman (u/s Persephone), André De Shields (Hermes), Jessie Shelton (Fate), Yael 'Yaya' Reich (Fate), Tara Jackson (Fate), Malcolm Armwood (Worker), Afra Hines (Worker), Timothy Hughes (Worker), Trent Saunders (Worker), Kim Steele (Worker), T Oliver Reid (Worker)

Notes: Act 1 begins with second verse of 'Wedding Song.'

Broadway | November 9, 2021 | MP4 (musain’s Master)

Cast: Reeve Carney (Orpheus), Eva Noblezada (Eurydice), Patrick Page (Hades), Lana Gordon (alt Persephone), André De Shields (Hermes), Jewelle Blackman (Fate), Jessie Shelton (Fate), Mariand Torres (Fate), Timothy Hughes (Worker), Trent Saunders (Worker), Malcolm Armwood (Worker), Yael YaYa Reich (s/w Worker), Kim Steele (Worker)

Notes: Patrick Page’s first performance back as Hades and Trent Saunders’s debut as a Worker. Video has occasional dropout, mostly from the filmer applauding but there’s also roughly 5 minutes of complete darkness during Doubt Comes In and Road To Hell II. There’s also sporadic moments in which the camera is titled too low / too high. Overall a high quality video of a very special performance with occasional minor filming flaws.

Broadway | January 2022 | MP4 (4K) (juniper47’s master)

Cast: Jordan Dobson (t/r Orpheus), Jessie Shelton (u/s Eurydice), Patrick Page (Hades), Amber Gray (Persephone), T Oliver Reid (u/s Hermes), Jewelle Blackman (Fate), Yael 'YaYa' Reich (u/s Fate), Kay Trinidad (Fate), Emily Afton (Worker), Malcolm Armwood (Worker), Timothy Hughes (Worker), Trent Saunders (Worker), Khaila Wilcoxon (Worker)

Notes: Filmed in 4K (released as 1080p and 4K), external audio source. Mix of wide, medium, and close zooms when appropriate. Obstruction from a head on lower right side in medium and wide shots, occasionally blocking some action on stage (as can be seen in provided screenshots). Audio only of 'Our Lady of the Underground', and a handful of drop-outs when the lighting became too bright in the audience. Otherwise, a very nice capture of Jordan Dobson, Jessie Shelton, and T. Oliver Reid as Orpheus, Eurydice, and Hermes, respectively.

Broadway | February 19, 2022 | MP4 (musain’s Master)

Cast: Reeve Carney (Orpheus), Eva Noblezada (Eurydice), Patrick Page (Hades), Amber Gray (Persephone), André De Shields (Hermes), Tara Jackson (s/w Fate), Jewelle Blackman (Fate), Kay Trinidad (Fate), Emily Afton (Worker), Malcolm Armwood (Worker), Timothy Hughes (Worker), Grace Yoo (Worker), Trent Saunders (Worker)

Notes: Amber Gray’s final performance in Hadestown. Full show is filmed, including the standing ovation that Amber got before the performance even started, right up to the band exiting. Moderate obstruction from the box/bar, etc. Dropouts and shakiness during applause breaks, especially during all of the standing ovations that happened for Amber — what can I say? It was such an emotional night and I was more focused on being in the moment than getting a 4K video. However, what is captured is high quality, and is of a very memorable show. For transparency, some screenshots include the obstructed/less-than-HQ moments, so people know what they’re purchasing/watching.

1st US National Tour

1NT | October 2021 | MP4 (juniper47's Master)

Cast: Chibueze Ihuoma (u/s Orpheus), Morgan Siobhan Green (Eurydice), Kevyn Morrow (Hades), Kimberly Marable (Persephone), Levi Kries (Hermes), Belén Moyana (Fate), Bex Odorisio (Fate), Shea Renne (Fate), Lindsey Hailes (Worker), Will Mann (Worker), Nathan Salstone (s/w Worker), Alex Lugo (Worker), Jamari Johnson Williams (Worker)

Notes: Filmed in 4K (released as 1080p and 4K), audio from external source. Mix of wide, medium, and close-up shots to capture sets, lighting design, ensemble, and individual performances. Only occasional very minor obstruction in lower left corner from a tall dude who sometimes leaned forward in his seat. Includes most of curtain call and "We Raise Our Cups". A++ performances from this tour cast, especially Chibueze's Orpheus!

1NT | October 2021 | MOV (ilostmytortoise’s master)

Cast: Chibueze Ihuoma (u/s Orpheus), Morgan Siobhan Green (Eurydice), Kevyn Morrow (Hades), Kimberly Marable (Persephone), Levi Kries (Hermes), Belén Moyano (Fate), Bex Odorisio (Fate), Shea Renne (Fate), Lindsey Hailes (Worker), Will Mann (Worker), Nathan Salstone (s/w Worker), Alex Lugo (Worker), Jamari Johnson Williams (Worker)

Notes: One of Chibueze's first performances. Phone highlights of songs and scenes totaling 47 minutes, edited to be 16:9. Honestly worth it just for him giving it his all especially in Wait For Me and If It's True.

1NT | October 13, 2021 | MP4 (TheatreCouple14’s Master)

Cast: Nicholas Barasch (Orpheus), Morgan Siobhan Green (Eurydice), Kevyn Morrow (Hades), Kimberly Marable (Persephone), Levi Kries (Hermes), Belén Moyana (Fate), Bex Odorisio (Fate), Shea Renne (Fate), Lindsey Hailes (Worker), Chibueze Ihuoma (Worker), Will Mann (Worker), Sydney Parra (Worker), Jamari Johnson Williams (Worker)

Notes: Video is mediocre (C-). Wide-stage shots with no zooms. The front 20% of the stage is covered by the balcony overhang, but some of the group numbers are alright. Better in Act 1 than Act 2. LOVE this new cast. Some really stunning performances and new takes on familiar characters. The show will only get better from here! Includes Video, Audio (Tracked and Untracked), and Digital Program.

1NT | October 27, 2021 | MP4

Cast: Chibueze Ihuoma (u/s Orpheus), Morgan Siobhan Green (Eurydice), Kevyn Morrow (Hades), Kimberly Marable (Persephone), Levi Kries (Hermes), Belén Moyano (Fate), Bex Odorisio (Fate), Shea Renne (Fate), Lindsey Hailes (Worker), Will Mann (Worker), Nathan Salstone (s/w Worker), Alex Lugo (Worker), Jamari Johnson Williams (Worker)

Notes: Pretty terrible phone boot from the balcony. The balcony railing obstructs a lot (mostly act two), but some of the group members and Hades/Persephone Balcony scenes are somewhat watchable. I guess if you're a big Hadestown fan you might want a few seconds of this video. The audio is gorgeous and this is my favorite cast of this show. Excellent performances from everyone. Hope this can hold people until a much better video comes along.

1NT | January 2022 | MP4 (mynewfavoriteday's master)

Cast: Nicholas Barasch (Orpheus), Morgan Siobhan Green (Eurydice), Kevyn Morrow (Hades), Kimberly Marable (Persephone), Levi Kreis (Hermes), Belén Moyano (Fate), Bex Odorisio (Fate), Shea Renne (Fate), Will Mann (Worker), Chibueze Ihuoma (Worker), Lindsay Hailes (Worker), Sydney Parra (Worker), Jamari Johnson Williams (Worker)

Notes: Excellent HD capture of the Original Tour Cast of the 2019 Best Musical Tony Award winner. It's filmed in 16:9 with a mix of wides, mediums, and closeups from the center balcony. The entire cast are fabulous and bursting with energy which brought some great reactions from the audience. There are some occasional railing obstructions at the very bottom of the screen during wideshots that usually don't block much except for legs and there are quick dropouts during applause. Most notably in the first act, there's some minor wandering and framing slips that'll place most of the action on the right side of the screen but it's fixed for the second act. There's a two minute blackout at the very beginning of Any Way the Wind Blows but audio is included. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call, the post bows song (We Raise Our Cups), and playbill scans.

1NT | February 2022 | MP4 (StarCuffedJeans’ Master)

Cast: Nicholas Barasch (Orpheus), Morgan Siobhan Green (Eurydice), Kimberly Immanuel (u/s Eurydice), Kevyn Morrow (Hades), Kimberly Marable (Persephone), Levi Kreis (Hermes), Belén Moyano (Fate), Bex Odorisio (Fate), Shea Renne (Fate), Will Mann (Worker), Chibueze Ihuoma (Worker), Jamari Johnson Williams (Worker), Lindsey Hailes (Worker), Sydney Parra (Worker)

Notes: Kimberly enters as Eurydice moments before act 1 ends. Technically her Eurydice debut.

1NT | March 2022 (1) | MP4 (stillreprise’s master)

Cast: Nicholas Barasch (Orpheus), Morgan Siobhan Green (Eurydice), Kevyn Morrow (Hades), Kimberly Marable (Persephone), Levi Kreis (Hermes), Belén Moyano (Fate), Bex Odorisio (Fate), Shea Renne (Fate), Lindsey Hailes (Worker), Chibueze Ihuoma (Worker), Will Mann (Worker), Sydney Parra (Worker), Jamari Johnson Williams (Worker)

Notes: stillreprise's master. Redemption after the Columbus fiasco. Slightly obstructed by heads and therefore everything that happened downstage or too far right or left was cut off, but I did my best. Minimal brief dropouts towards the beginning, in addition to some mild shakiness and wandering but otherwise pretty clear and well-focused on the action. Hades' balcony was obstructed by a light so I tried to avoid focusing up there unless I absolutely had to. The angle was pretty high so if anyone is standing in the garage, their head gets cut off. Flashing light warning for Wait For Me.

1NT | March 2022 (2) | MP4 (stillreprise’s master)

Cast: Nicholas Barasch (Orpheus), Morgan Siobhan Green (Eurydice), Kevyn Morrow (Hades), Kimberly Marable (Persephone), Levi Kreis (Hermes), Belén Moyano (Fate), Bex Odorisio (Fate), Shea Renne (Fate), Lindsey Hailes (Worker), Chibueze Ihuoma (Worker), Will Mann (Worker), Jamari Johnson Williams (Worker), Kimberly Immanuel (s/w Worker)

Notes: stillreprise's master. Shot between two heads, so the video is heavily obstructed. For this reason, it's primarily close zooms because stageshots were pretty much impossible where I was. I followed the action the best that I could and I got some beautiful, clear zooms. Video skips forward briefly after Wait For Me and before Why We Build the Wall because I accidentally stopped recording. You only miss part of the applause and a few seconds of the intro to Build the Wall. Some shakiness, wandering, and dropouts, but otherwise a fine video. Washout was only present when zoomed out, and doesn't last for long periods of time. Occasionally, but only in dark or backlit scenes, my camera decided to focus on the heads in front of me and make the stage blurry. This is most present in Doubt Comes In, but it isn't too distracting at all. Not good for a first time viewer but definitely watchable despite the obstructions. Thank you to those who helped me buy the ticket!

1NT | March 2022 (3) | MP4 (stillreprise’s mastaer)

Cast: Nicholas Barasch (Orpheus), Morgan Siobhan Green (Eurydice), Kevyn Morrow (Hades), Kimberly Marable (Persephone), Will Mann (u/s Hermes), Belén Moyano (Fate), Bex Odorisio (Fate), Shea Renne (Fate), Lindsey Hailes (Worker), Chibueze Ihuoma (Worker), Sydney Parra (Worker), Jamari Johnson Williams (Worker), Ian Coulter-Buford (s/w Worker)

Notes: stillreprise's master. Semi-obstructed by heads with shakiness, washout, and mild wandering. Only one dropout towards the beginning and it isn't for long. Act 1 ends after Wait For Me, but act 2 is complete. The first part of Flowers and the beginning of If It's True were both heavily obstructed due to the actors being seated but I worked around it the best I could, and it doesn't stay obstructed for long. My camera had some issues with focusing today but it shouldn't be too much of an issue. The worst of it was during Doubt Comes In. Thank you to those who helped pay for my ticket.
