Notes: My friend and I can be very slightly heard throughout the audio. The mics cut out a lot, particularly during the protest at the end of Big Blonde and Beautiful. Edna’s mic didn’t turn on and then instead of turning on Link’s mic I think they turned Amber’s on instead so Edna’s “We’re here to stay!” and Link’s “Tracy, this is beautiful!” was cut out. The mixing in general was really bad tonight LOL. I dropped my phone at the end of I Know Where I’ve Been.

It tells the fictive story of club-owner Cassie and her friends, regulars and/or staff at the club, and is a celebration of the music of that era. It’s staged in-the-round. This show was originally a ‘Pop-project’, created and originally played at the Frank Sanders Akademie in February of 2021, and went in reprise for two nights only in this intimate theatre with the original cast of recent-graduates. Includes the pre-show speech made by the show’s artistic director, which included trigger warnings for the show, as well as encouraging audiences to step out if needed and to take advantage of help hotlines posted in the lobby. Audience was extremely reactive and laughed at almost every joke. Heavy mic issues throughout the show, particularly at the beginning of act 2, but they seem to be resolved and don’t stick around for long.
